Yesterday was the last day of school for Jefferson County Public School students. Many of them have graduated and are now turning the page to a new chapter in their book of life, their journey. Where this journey will take them depends mostly on them, and, partially, on the circumstances. It is very important not to miss the opportunities presented to us and not to postpone taking advantage of them.
Just a little over a year ago I applied to the Teachers for Global Classrooms program. I knew that the competition was high, and only 80 teachers were to be selected from the whole country. But I took my chances. And, voila, I am going to the Philippines! How exciting is that?! Looking back on the events of my life, I can testify from personal experience that the most incredible adventures happened because I took advantage of the opportunities I had. You are so right, Anthony Robbins, "The only impossible journey is the one you never begin."
